Amendment in Safeguard Duty (Effective from the date when President of India gives assent to Finance Bill)
It has been proposed to levy Safeguard duty to 100% EOU or SEZ unit if the goods imported
- are cleared as such in DTA or;
- are used in manufacture of goods that are cleared in DTA.
This change will come into effect immediately owing to a declaration under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931.
