Notification No. 1/89- Foreign Travel Tax G.S.R. 552 (E),- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 51 of the Finance Act, 1989 (13 of 1989), the Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of June, 1989 as the date on which the provisions of the said section shall come into force. Under Secretary to the Government of India [F. No. 348/12/89-TRU] Explanatory Note: This notification seeks to increase the Foreign Travel Tax from Rs. 100/50 to Rs. 300/150 with effect from 1st June, 1989.
